Garnier BB Cream
Garnier BB Cream
Hallelujah!!!
My troubled skin has found salvation!
How the Basic Average Consumer Uses it:
I use this as my daily foundation, moisturizer, and sun protection. If I want a more traditional make-up look, I add some powder on top. This covers my rosacea, covers imperfections, minimizes pores, evens skin tone, prevents break-outs (even monthly ones), hydrates, and actually makes my skin look better even when I'm not wearing it. I have crazy skin that peels under even the most hydrating foundation. Until now, I wore Merle Norman's Lasting Foundation in a hard to find color called Alabaster. At $25 per tube, I was shelling out major bucks for my skin to look like it was crumbling off my face by three in the afternoon. Until now, it was the best I could find. I had tried just about every make-up before, and other tinted moisturizers-- I didn't like the heavier foundations, and I had peeling, matching issues, and coverage issues.
With the BB Cream, there are only two shades to pick from. You can't mess this up! I am hydrated all day, can lock it in with a powder, and it looks fantastic. I can put a little on for daily wear or apply heavily for a night out. At half the price of what I was paying before, this is a steal!

Scoop Away Cat Litter
Scoop Away Cat Litter
This is the best cat litter I've ever used. Clumps hard and smells fresh. Easy to scoop and keeps litter box clean since everything comes out of it. Works well in LitterMaid or other automatic litter boxes.
How the Basic Average Consumer uses it:
We have two cats. One is a middle-aged adult, the other is a very senior citizen. We use a traditional litter box and scoop daily into a receptacle (a small trash can with a lid and a grocery bag inside). Because of it's superb quality, the litter lasts longer and needs changed less often, so the price is very comparable if not overall less expensive than the cheaper brands.

Balance Forecaster App
Balance Forecaster App
This is perhaps my favorite website ever.
I stumbled onto this website while trying to come up with a spreadsheet that I could format to figure out my monthly bills, when they were paid, and how much I had left in my checking account for paying more on credit cards and other spending. There is a free two week trial, and I guarantee you won't want to live without it after trying it. There is a yearly cost of $6 or $15 for a lifetime membership. I jumped straight to the $15 after one week signed up for this program.
First you have to figure out your monthly bills. It doesn't need your personal information, and you don't enter account numbers into it. Just the name, amount, and date of your recurring bills and paychecks and the starting balance of your bank accounts. After that, the program takes over and tells you how much will be in your accounts DAILY for up to one year. Yep, you needed this, didn't you???
How the Basic Average Consumer uses it:
I have a rewards credit card that I use for all my purchases to get rewards points on that I save up to use for our annual vacation. My monthly bills that don't get paid for on my credit card come out of my checking account. I needed to know how much I could pay on my credit card every payday to keep my balance low or paid off so that I am not being counter-productive and accruing interest charges that are more than my rewards are worth. So I know every paycheck, how much will be in my account on a daily basis. I look ahead one year, see what my lowest balance will be, subtract my "buffer amount" (I use $200--just in case) and make my payment for whatever is left. So if I see that the lowest balance in the next few months is $500, I subtract $200 for my buffer, and I can make a $300 payment to my credit card(s). Easy, right?
One BIG advantage, is that you can go in and change your current bank account balance and check off items that have posted, so you don't have to keep up with every little item in your checking account, just the recurring charges. I like to use a split screen on my computer to check off my posted items. One side with my checking account, the other with Balance Forecasting App.
There is an iPhone app available, though I haven't tried it since I use Android.
If you don't check out anything else, give this the two weeks. It will be worth your time!!!

I love this program. It was free to start up and automatically adds accounts that are created using my information. This helps track balance information and gives me a way to check if new accounts were created. I can check all my finances and get reminders when card payments are due. It also alerts me if my account balances are running low, and can even help with budgeting. Looks like I've spent more than usual this month on shopping. Big surprise there :)
How the Basic Average Consumer uses it:
I especially like that they have an app available for my smartphone, so instead of logging into my bank account and all my credit card accounts, I can easily view all my accounts in one place. This way I know if I can afford that new purse and which account to put it on.
